Motivating Brixton’s youth through music

Indigo Youth in Brixton are celebrating a £27,985 grant awarded by People’s Health Trust, using money raised by Health Lottery London East.

This two-year project is the development of existing work with young people. The project will enable participants to share their experience of music and how it is made. Young people will be encouraged to develop skills including song-writing, production, performance, poetry writing, street dance, music video and film making.

Chris Lunn, The Health Lottery in London East spokesperson, said: “The funds raised through The Health Lottery London West are changing and improving lives. It was clear that supporting Indigo Youth would have a great benefit to the community. To date, over £100 million has been raised through The Health Lottery, of which over £7.3 million has been raised for London East. We hope to make even more for good causes when Health Lottery London East opens in June 2019.”

Health Lottery London East is benefitting from Health Lottery tickets sold for all draws held between 1 June and 31 June 2019. You can buy Health Lottery tickets in advance for these draws online at www.healthlottery.co.uk, or from over 32,000 local retailers including The Post Office, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and WH Smith.
