Supporting stay and play sessions in a big red bus for Greenwich under-fives

The Big Red Bus Club are celebrating receiving funding of £43,713 awarded by People’s Health Trust, using money raised by Health Lottery London East.

The two-year project aims to support and train local parents to deliver a daily stay and play session for under-fives. The project will be based in an iconic, renovated double-decker bus in the Charlton Park area of Greenwich.

The aim is to encourage both parents and children to socialise with other local residents and neighbours, creating deeper friendships and links.

Chris Lunn, The Health Lottery in London East spokesperson, said: “The funds raised through The Health Lottery London West are changing and improving lives. It was clear that supporting The Big Red Bus Club would have a great benefit to the community. To date, over £100 million has been raised through The Health Lottery, of which over £7.3 million has been raised for London East. We hope to make even more for good causes when Health Lottery London East opens in June 2019.”

Health Lottery London East is benefitting from Health Lottery tickets sold for all draws held between 1 June and 31 June 2019. You can buy Health Lottery tickets in advance for these draws online at www.healthlottery.co.uk, or from over 32,000 local retailers including The Post Office, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons and WH Smith.
